Manual grading Strapping: The manual grading strapping product is designed to be used manually, using manual, battery-driven or pneumatic tools.

Joint efficiency: The total usable strength of the belt is only as strong as the joint that holds the two ends together. "Joint efficiency" is expressed as a percentage of the total breaking strength of the belt.

Machine grading strapping: The machine-level strapping machine is polypropylene or polyester fiber, designed to run through the full-track arch machine.

Maintaining tension: Maintaining tension refers to the ability of the belt to maintain its initial tension level after a period of time. Among all non-metallic materials, after proper use, polyester tape will have the highest retained tension.

Semi-automatic strapping: This is a cost-effective belt designed for bowless machines. It lacks the rigidity required for a full-track machine, but it is an excellent substitute for a semi-automatic machine.

Impact resistance: This is the ability of the strap to stretch and return to its original state without breaking when subjected to a sudden impact.

Crack resistance: the ability of the strap to withstand lateral tearing.

Thickness: Due to its embossed pattern, strap thickness is a relatively obscure measure. Standard ½ inch machine grade belts can be embossed to a thickness between .014 and .030, depending on the depth of the embossing pattern. In an over-embossed belt, the thickness measurement will be greater and the breaking strength will be lower.
